A brand for playful socks, Footsy is our very own venture, and very close to our heart. We’ve been living and breathing this project since the idea struck our founder, and there’s been no looking back ever since. This journey involved not only crafting the brand, but also doing some strategic business planning. How does the e-commerce industry work? Will the product idea click? Why socks? Who’s going to buy the product? How do we sustain sales on a daily basis? These are some of the questions we found answers to during our process in designing this business.
The Footsy logo is completely handcrafted, adding to the overall uniqueness of the brand.
The e-commerce website is the heart of this brand. The first version of the site was designed at the time of the brand launch in 2012. A year later, we found ourselves redesigning it, and adding features and design elements which were essential to improve the overall brand experience. Through the year, we kept a brand journal, where we recorded all our learnings, feedback from customers, failures, and action steps. It helped, since the redesigned website has not only enhanced the experience, but improved sales too. It has also received great feedback from our sockaholics!Launch Website
The packaging is toned down so that the product can stand out. More importantly, the packaging production costs are marginal, since the product tags are single colour printing – a blessing for a start-up!
The shoelace packaging makes use of white CD sleeves (commonly available) with a custom sticker. The peek of colour through the circular cutout makes for a visually appealing pack.
Sock typography! We’ve created a few words with some of the most colourful socks. A complete sockography (sock typography) is being designed as well.
