Jagriti
A Performance Arts space dedicated to Theatre, Music, Dance and Comedy
We’ve had a long and enriching engagement with this theatre, tucked away in the Whitefield area of Bangalore. Over many years (through 2010 to 2015 or so), we designed the posters and communication materials for the plays and performances, logos for seasonal initiatives, signage for the newly constructed theatre, press kits and giveaways, and a variety of other details.
We’re attempting to share a few pieces of our work here. Buried deep in old hard drives, we’re hoping to unearth a few more pieces as we go along.
A special place
Just when we started Studio Sky, we spent many a day at Jagriti, while the theatre was still under construction. Working with the founders, Jagdish and Arundhati Raja, was such a heartwarming experience for us. Trips from Indiranagar to Whitefield didn't seem as daunting in the early 2010s, and as a result we found ourselves attending rehearsals, readings, costume fittings and sometimes just visiting for a hot cuppa tea.
We had the opportunity to design logos for several of the theatre's initiatives.
From the classics to the contemporary: Jagriti Season 2011-12
Jagriti curated a 'Season' of six world-standard plays by established playwrights and theatre companies – mainstream theatre crafted for a wider audience. We focused on the many textures of theatre and life, along with a warmer colour palette. The logotype was cropped in multiple ways to form the basis of the visual language.
